Central Railway has published Supply Of si marked portable fire extinguisher , isi marked portable fire extinguisher (cartridgetype) as per latest is: 15683: 2018 with amendment no.1 of sept-2024 or latest, meeting technical requirements- capacity- 6 kgs. suitable for a, b, c class of fire, dry chemical powder type charged with 90% concentration as per is-4308:2019 (t hird revision), co2 cartridge of 120 gm capacity as per is-4947:2006 (third revision reaffirmed-2022 ) amendment no.1 of sept-2024. body construction: single piece stainless steel/aluminium/composite cylinder as per clause no.9.2.6/ 9.2.7 / 9.2.8 of is: 15683 (latest) respectively, squeeze grip type oper ating system. the fire extinguisher should not be of plunger type, rather handle type fire extinguisher are only eligible. following critical particulars must be engraved on the each fire extinguisher contain er body.
